Liverpool’s central defender, Ibrahima Konaté, is reportedly attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Sources suggest the French international is open to the idea of returning to his hometown of Paris.
Konaté, who is 25 years old, came through the youth ranks at Paris FC before moving to Sochaux and later RB Leipzig. His impressive performances at Leipzig led to a transfer to Liverpool in 2021 for around €40 million. At Liverpool, he has become a key player and is considered one of the top defenders in world football alongside Virgil van Dijk.
His development has been closely followed in France, and he is now a regular starter for the French national team, even captaining the side on occasion.
Konaté’s contract with Liverpool runs until 2026. While Liverpool have reportedly offered him a new contract, he has not yet signed it. PSG are looking to strengthen their defense, particularly with Marquinhos turning 31. Signing Konaté would be a move to secure their defense for the future.
