According to reports from Italian and Turkish media, Ciro Immobile is on the verge of making a comeback to Serie A with Bologna after spending a year with Turkish club Besiktas.
Sources indicate that Immobile was in Istanbul on Wednesday to finalize the details of his departure from Besiktas. Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has confirmed that Immobile has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Besiktas, making him a free agent this summer.
Bologna Bound: Immobile`s Next Chapter
Sky Sport Italia reports that once the formalities in Turkey are completed, Immobile will head to Italy to wrap up his move to Bologna. The 35-year-old striker, who has scored 201 goals in Serie A, making him the eighth-highest scorer in the league`s history, is expected to sign a one-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Immobile is just four goals shy of equaling Roberto Baggio`s Serie A goal tally and eight goals away from matching Antonio Di Natale`s record, which would place him sixth on the all-time scoring list.
During his single season with Besiktas, Immobile netted 15 goals in 30 league appearances, with his total goal count reaching 19 across all competitions.
This move marks an exciting return for the former Lazio captain, as he aims to further cement his legacy in Italian football and potentially climb higher in the Serie A goalscoring rankings.
