Inter CEO Marotta on Match Scheduling, Player Fitness, and Season Objectives
As Inter Milan prepares for their away match against Parma in the 31st round of Serie A, CEO Giuseppe Marotta spoke to the media about various aspects of the team’s current situation and aspirations.
Regarding the title race and match scheduling, Marotta stated, “We’ve grown accustomed to playing before or after our rivals. Playing first can provide some mental freedom, as those who play later must chase. However, professional players should be prepared to handle these dynamics. The real challenge lies in managing three competitions – Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Champions League – within this tight timeframe.”
On the subject of team captain Lautaro Martinez, Marotta praised his mental strength and continuous growth. He also addressed the issue of injuries, noting that all clubs participating in multiple competitions are experiencing a significant number of injuries due to the evolving nature of modern football.
Concerning manager Simone Inzaghi’s birthday, Marotta commented, “We’ve already celebrated with the team. The best gift we can give him is to help finish the season in the best possible way. Although it’s his birthday, I believe he’s solely focused on today’s match.”
