Inter CEO Marotta on Transfer Decisions and Team Performance
Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta spoke to the media before the team’s match against Fiorentina, addressing various topics including recent transfer rumors and the squad’s current form.
Regarding the possibility of signing Joao Felix, Marotta clarified: “We didn’t initiate any negotiations. We evaluated several players who were potentially available, but ultimately decided to maintain our current squad. While we were interested, we didn’t pursue it further, though we respect the player.”
When asked about the team’s attacking prowess, Marotta emphasized: “Statistically, we’re a prolific team with the best offense in the league. The goalless match on Thursday was an anomaly. Scoring isn’t our main issue, but we need to stay focused to secure results when we’re ahead.”
Addressing concerns about fatigue, Marotta acknowledged: “There’s definitely physical and mental tiredness. We can’t fault the team or coach; they’re dedicated professionals. The psychological strain has been significant lately. It’s not an excuse, and it affects other teams too. We need to adapt to the demanding schedule and turn this challenge into an advantage.”
Marotta also touched on the team’s desire for redemption following their recent 3-0 loss to Fiorentina, stating that the disappointment would serve as additional motivation for the upcoming match.
