Inter Milan has officially announced the transfer of Franco Carboni to Empoli, while reports from Spain indicate that Denzel Dumfries might have been proposed to Barcelona by agent Jorge Mendes, with a potential €25 million release clause.
The Nerazzurri confirmed that Franco Carboni, a 22-year-old left-back and sibling of Inter player Valentin Carboni, has joined Empoli on a loan deal that includes a mandatory purchase option at the season`s end. The Argentine defender had been with Inter since 2020 and gained experience through various loan spells at clubs including Cagliari, Monza, Ternana, River Plate, and Venezia.
Potential Dumfries Release Clause Raises Concerns for Inter
According to Spanish publication Sport, agent Jorge Mendes reportedly presented Dumfries as an option to Barcelona during a recent meeting. While Barcelona`s management was said to be interested in the proposition, finalizing the deal before the alleged €25 million release clause expires at July`s end could prove challenging.
Currently, Barcelona`s focus is on strengthening other areas of their squad that require immediate attention. Last season, the 29-year-old Dutch international demonstrated his value by contributing 11 goals and 6 assists across 47 matches in all competitions.
