Inter Milan has officially completed the transfer of Andy Diouf from RC Lens for a reported fee of €20 million, with an additional €5 million in potential bonuses. The 22-year-old midfielder successfully passed his medical examination and has signed a five-year contract with the Nerazzurri.
Diouf will wear the number 17 jersey for Inter this season under the guidance of new coach Cristian Chivu. The young France international, who has already earned two senior caps for his country, is seen as a significant addition to Inter`s midfield.
A Rapid Rise in Value
Diouf`s career has seen a meteoric rise in recent years. After developing in the youth academies of Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Rennais, he flourished at FC Basel in the 2022-23 season, leading to a €5.5 million transfer. Shortly after, RC Lens acquired him for €14 million, and now, just two years later, his value has nearly doubled to €25 million with this move to Inter.
The Italian giants identified Diouf as their primary midfield target after an initial attempt to sign Manu Koné from Roma was unsuccessful. This transfer represents a significant investment for Inter and a new challenge for the young French talent in Serie A.
