Inter Milan Considers Long-Term Contract Extension for Simone Inzaghi
According to recent reports, Inter Milan is contemplating offering their head coach Simone Inzaghi a contract extension that would keep him at the club until 2028. This consideration comes on the heels of what has been described as a “perfect” year for the team.
Inzaghi’s current contract is set to expire in June 2026. However, the club’s leadership, including president Beppe Marotta, has been thoroughly impressed by the team’s progress and results throughout 2024. This has prompted them to begin preparations for a new contract offer for the Piacenza-born tactician.
Last summer, Inzaghi became the highest-paid coach in Serie A when he signed his current deal, which pays him €6.5 million per season. Under his guidance, Inter Milan not only clinched their 20th Serie A title this year but also maintained an impressive average of 2.37 points per game.
The team’s performance has been so strong that if they win their upcoming matches against Como and Cagliari, they will accumulate 89 points in 2024, surpassing their 2023 total by two points.
Should Inzaghi accept an extension until 2028, he would become the second-longest serving manager in Inter Milan’s history. This distinction would place him behind only Helenio Herrera, who led the club for eight consecutive years from 1960 to 1968, and briefly returned for the 1973-74 season.
This potential long-term commitment from Inter Milan demonstrates their confidence in Inzaghi’s leadership and vision for the team’s future.
