Inter Milan has officially announced the formation of a new Under-23 team set to participate in Serie C beginning in the 2025-26 season. This move marks a significant expansion of the club`s youth development program.
The new team, simply named “Inter U23”, will be the fourth Serie A club to field an U23 side in Serie C, following in the footsteps of Juventus Next Gen, Milan Futuro, and Atalanta U23. It`s worth noting that Milan Futuro will compete in Serie D in 2025-26 after being relegated from Serie C in their inaugural 2024-25 season.
Stefano Vecchi has been appointed as the first head coach of Inter U23. The 54-year-old has a long history with Inter, having come through the club`s youth ranks as a player. Vecchi previously led Inter`s Primavera (youth) team from 2014 to 2018 and briefly served as caretaker manager for the first team on two occasions.
The U23 team will play their home matches at the U-Power Stadium in Monza, sharing the venue with the Serie B club.
