Inter Milan has officially announced the permanent acquisition of Polish midfielder Nicola Zalewski from AS Roma. The Nerazzurri exercised their €6.5 million purchase option following Zalewski`s successful loan period.
The 21-year-old joined Inter on loan in February and made 17 appearances across all competitions during the latter half of the 2024-25 season. Zalewski quickly endeared himself to fans by providing a crucial assist for Stefan de Vrij`s stoppage-time equalizer against AC Milan in his debut match.
Throughout his loan spell, Zalewski demonstrated his value to the team. He scored his first goal for Inter in a 2-0 victory over Torino in May. The young midfielder also featured as a substitute in the Champions League final, where Inter suffered a 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Inter`s decision to make Zalewski`s move permanent reflects the club`s confidence in his abilities and potential for future growth. The Polish international has already been included in Inter`s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, signaling his importance to the team`s plans.
With this transfer, Inter Milan strengthens its midfield options and secures a promising young talent for the long term. Zalewski`s versatility and technical skills make him a valuable asset as the club aims to compete at the highest level in both domestic and international competitions.
