Inter Milan is growing increasingly concerned about the possibility of Lautaro Martinez arriving back from international duty later than expected, potentially jeopardizing his participation in the upcoming match against Roma.
The Nerazzurri are set to face the joint Serie A leaders at the Stadio Olimpico next Saturday evening. The timing was already tight for South American players returning from international matches to be fully prepared, especially with Champions League fixtures on the horizon.
However, the situation has become more complicated for Argentine players due to recent schedule changes.
Schedule Alteration Affects Inter`s Plans for Lautaro Martinez
Originally, Argentina was scheduled to play Venezuela in Miami, followed by a friendly match against Puerto Rico in Chicago. However, due to security concerns, the Puerto Rico game has been postponed by 24 hours and moved to Miami, now taking place on Tuesday.
This change means Lautaro Martinez won`t be able to return to Italy until Wednesday afternoon, leaving him with very little time to participate in training sessions and prepare for the crucial Serie A match on Saturday.
Given that the Puerto Rico match is a friendly, Inter may request permission from the Argentine national team to allow Martinez to leave early and skip that game. This would give him more time to prepare for the important league fixture against Roma.
