Hakan Calhanoglu says Inter ‘want the Treble’ this season, while Marko Arnautovic says he doesn’t deserve credit for the 2010 Treble, stating, ‘I was basically a fan.’
The Nerazzurri were unexpectedly down 2-0 at home against Monza, who are at the bottom of the league. However, Arnautovic scored a diving header, Calhanoglu scored a volley from outside the box, and Georgios Kyriakopoulos scored an own goal while trying to defend against Lautaro Martinez, turning the game around.
This 3-2 win puts pressure on Napoli, and Atalanta and Juventus are playing each other on Sunday.
“Like I said before the game, we can’t underestimate any team. They have quality and can cause problems, but we gave it our all, controlled the game, and are happy to win,” Calhanoglu told Sky Sport Italia.
Simone Inzaghi mentioned he doesn’t want to choose between the league title, Champions League, and Coppa Italia, suggesting the possibility of aiming for the Treble.
“I think the coach’s mindset is right, we want the Treble and to give our fans something special, but it’s a long journey, and we need to take it one step at a time,” Calhanoglu added.
Calhanoglu and Arnautovic on Inter’s Success

Arnautovic was part of the Inter team that won the Treble under Jose Mourinho in 2010, but the Austrian player says he doesn’t deserve any credit for it.
“I was just like a fan in the Curva Nord. I didn’t contribute much, only played a few games, so I don’t consider it my Treble,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
The striker praised Calhanoglu, who was named Man of the Match, during their on-field post-match interview.
“Calha is very important. In my long career, I’ve never found a better friend in football. Calha is also key for the team; when he’s playing well, the whole team plays well.”
Calhanoglu returned the compliment.
“When things get tough, he’s the one who steps up and motivates everyone,” Calhanoglu concluded.
