Inter Milan are gearing up for their Club World Cup Round of 16 clash against Fluminense. The match is scheduled for Monday, June 30 at 21:00 CET at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
In a positive development for Inter, Marcus Thuram has completed a full training session with the squad and is expected to be available for the upcoming match. The French striker had missed the previous two games against Urawa Reds and River Plate.
However, Francesco Pio Esposito is facing uncertainty due to a muscle issue. The young forward underwent medical tests and his participation in the Fluminense match remains in doubt.
Meanwhile, four Inter players have departed the tournament and returned to Europe. Hakan Calhanoglu, Piotr Zielinski, Benjamin Pavard and Yann Bisseck are not expected to recover in time for any of Inter`s remaining Club World Cup fixtures.
The team is currently training at FC Charlotte`s Atrium Health Performance Park in preparation for the crucial match against the Brazilian side. Thuram was seen training alongside Davide Frattesi as Inter look to advance in the competition.
With these squad updates, manager Simone Inzaghi will need to carefully consider his lineup and tactics for the upcoming challenge against Fluminense.
