Inter Milan kicked off their season in spectacular fashion, demolishing Torino 5-0 at the San Siro. Marcus Thuram was the star of the show, netting twice, while Alessandro Bastoni, Lautaro Martinez, and debutant Ange-Yoan Bonny also found the back of the net.
Thuram, who has now scored six goals against Torino in Serie A, was particularly pleased with the team`s performance. “We`ve started the season well and kept a clean sheet too. We`re not at 100% yet, but we`re working on it and this is a promising beginning,” he told reporters after the match.
The French striker also shared a touching moment with his brother Khephren, who was watching from the stands. “He came as my little brother, not as a Juventus player. I love him dearly and I`m thrilled he was here to see me play,” Thuram said.
Defender Alessandro Bastoni echoed Thuram`s sentiments about the team`s strong start. “We were all eager to return and prove to ourselves that despite a challenging end to last season, we`re still hungry and determined to show what we`re capable of,” he stated.
Bastoni also addressed the previous season`s results, saying, “We reached the Champions League Final and finished just one point behind the Scudetto winners. While we didn`t win any trophies, I wouldn`t call it a failed campaign. A team that has nothing left doesn`t achieve those levels of success.”
The defender expressed optimism about the current squad, noting, “The core team is here, the new arrivals have brought fresh energy, and we`re pleased to have begun the season on such a positive note.”
With this dominant victory, Inter Milan has sent a clear message to their Serie A rivals. The team appears to be in excellent form and ready to compete for top honors in the upcoming season.
