Inter Milan maintained their impressive form with a comfortable 2-0 away victory against Cagliari in Serie A. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring early on, while young striker Francesco Pio Esposito sealed the win late in the game with his first ever Serie A goal.
The Nerazzurri started strongly and took the lead after just 9 minutes when Martinez headed in Alessandro Bastoni`s cross at the back post. It was the Argentine striker`s 12th career goal against Cagliari.
Inter dominated possession but struggled to extend their lead, with Hakan Calhanoglu coming closest when his long-range effort struck the inside of the post. Cagliari threatened an equalizer in the second half when Michael Folorunsho`s header hit the woodwork.
However, Inter made the game safe in the 82nd minute as Federico Dimarco set up Esposito to turn home from close range for his maiden Serie A strike. The comfortable win keeps Inter near the top of the table as they aim to reclaim the Scudetto this season.
Martinez continued his excellent scoring form before being substituted late on, while Esposito`s goal capped an impressive cameo appearance off the bench for the young forward. Inter`s strong defense held firm to secure another clean sheet in a solid team performance.
