Reports indicate that Galatasaray has made an initial offer of €17 million for Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu. However, the Italian club considers this bid far too low.
After weeks of speculation about Calhanoglu`s desire to transfer, discussions between the two clubs have finally commenced. The midfielder`s apparent push for this move has created tension within the Inter squad, particularly with teammate Lautaro Martinez, who publicly criticized Calhanoglu`s perceived lack of commitment.
Inter Holds Firm on Calhanoglu`s Valuation
While Inter is open to Calhanoglu`s departure, they are determined to receive a fair price for the player. The club`s asking price is reported to be between €30-35 million, significantly higher than Galatasaray`s initial offer.
Despite interest from other clubs, including Al-Hilal (coached by Simone Inzaghi) and several Premier League teams willing to pay more, Calhanoglu appears set on joining Galatasaray, the club he has long supported.
Inter`s stance is strengthened by Calhanoglu`s contract, which runs until June 2027. This long-term agreement puts the Italian club in a strong negotiating position.
As negotiations continue, it remains to be seen whether Galatasaray will increase their offer to meet Inter`s valuation of the 31-year-old midfielder.
