Genoa has officially secured the services of Valentin Carboni on a loan deal from Inter Milan. The Italian club confirmed the temporary transfer of the promising Argentine talent in an announcement on Friday.
Carboni, who recently returned from the Club World Cup with Inter, made a notable impact by scoring in a 2-1 victory against Urawa Reds. This contribution played a part in Cristian Chivu`s first win as Inter`s manager.
The 20-year-old attacker`s previous loan spell with Marseille was unfortunately cut short due to a knee injury, forcing his return to San Siro in January. Despite this setback, Carboni is widely regarded as one of Argentina`s most promising young players, even earning praise from Lionel Messi during a national team gathering in 2024.
Throughout his career, Carboni has made five Serie A appearances for Inter and 31 for Monza. His stint with Monza in the 2023-24 season was particularly productive, yielding two goals and four assists in 31 league matches.
While on loan at Genoa, Carboni remains under contract with Inter until 2029, highlighting the Nerazzurri`s long-term faith in his potential. This move to Genoa presents an excellent opportunity for the young talent to gain more first-team experience and continue his development in Italy`s top flight.
