Inzaghi Admits Concern After Inter’s Coppa Italia Exit Against Milan
Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi expressed his concerns following the team’s 3-0 loss to AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semi-final. This defeat, their second in a row, has eliminated Inter from the competition and ended their hopes of achieving a treble this season.
Inzaghi acknowledged Milan’s strong performance, stating, “We must give credit to Milan. They’ve consistently caused us problems in all our encounters this season.” He noted that Inter struggled in the second half, unable to respond after Luka Jovic’s opening goal.
The coach highlighted the team’s fatigue, both physical and mental, as a factor in their recent performances. “We’re dealing with physical and mental exhaustion, but we need to be stronger than that,” Inzaghi said. He emphasized that while fatigue is a challenge, it cannot be used as an excuse for their poor showing.
Looking ahead, Inzaghi stressed the importance of the upcoming matches, including a postponed Serie A clash with Roma and the Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona. “We have to keep going with confidence,” he stated, urging his players to bounce back and give their all in the remaining fixtures.
Despite the disappointment, Inzaghi remains focused on the future: “There’s one month left in the season, and we must continue with determination. We’ll try to recover and put in our best effort against Roma on Sunday.”
As Inter faces a crucial period that could define their season, Inzaghi’s challenge will be to reinvigorate his team and overcome the fatigue that has hampered their recent performances.
