Simone Inzaghi, the coach of Inter Milan, is reportedly considering giving Lautaro Martinez a rest during the upcoming Champions League match on Tuesday. This decision is due to concerns about Martinez’s muscular fatigue, with a crucial Serie A game against Atalanta approaching next weekend.
Inzaghi Weighs Resting Lautaro Martinez
Reports suggest that both Lautaro Martinez and his teammate Stefan De Vrij are experiencing muscular fatigue. As a result, they did not participate fully in Monday’s training session with the rest of the Inter squad.

This raises questions about their availability for the Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Feyenoord at San Siro on Tuesday. Inter currently holds a 2-0 lead from the first leg against the Dutch team.
Furthermore, it’s claimed that Hakan Calhanoglu might also be rested for the Feyenoord match. It appears that the Atalanta game is currently being viewed as the team’s top priority.
Inzaghi is already dealing with a number of injury issues within his squad. Piotr Zielinski is potentially facing around two months on the sidelines due to a calf injury sustained during Inter’s 3-2 victory over Monza.
Additionally, full-backs Federico Dimarco, Matteo Darmian, and Nicola Zalewski are still unavailable due to injury.
