Inzaghi: Inter Aims to Dominate Possession Against Bayern Munich in Quarter-Final Opener
Inter Milan’s head coach Simone Inzaghi has unveiled an ambitious plan for their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Bayern Munich. Despite facing the German giants on their home turf, Inzaghi is determined to see his team control the game’s tempo and maintain possession.
The crucial match is set to begin at 19:00 GMT at the Allianz Arena, with the return leg scheduled for April 16 at San Siro.
Inzaghi’s Aggressive Approach
“We need an exceptional Inter performance tonight – one that showcases determination, organization, hard work, and precision,” Inzaghi stated in a pre-match interview. “Bayern’s ability to create problems is well-known, which is why we must function as a cohesive unit.”
Despite Bayern Munich’s impressive 22-game unbeaten streak at home in the Champions League, Inzaghi believes Inter can disrupt their rhythm. “Our goal is to maintain clean and effective ball possession. Bayern excels at controlling the game and pressing aggressively off the ball. We aim to keep possession and seize the initiative from them,” he explained.
Addressing potential tactical adjustments by Bayern’s coach Vincent Kompany, particularly in midfield, Inzaghi emphasized the importance of team-wide effort. “The entire team, including substitutes, must contribute. Those coming off the bench will play a crucial role, as always,” he concluded.
