Inzaghi: Inter Showed Resilience and Determination to Reach Champions League Semi-Finals
Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance as they secured a place in the Champions League semi-finals for the second time in three years. The Italian side will face Barcelona in the next round after a thrilling 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich at San Siro, which resulted in a 4-3 aggregate victory.
Inzaghi praised his players for maintaining their composure throughout the challenging match. Despite conceding an early goal to Harry Kane, Inter quickly responded with goals from Lautaro Martinez and Benjamin Pavard. The team then held on during a tense finale following Eric Dier’s equalizer.
“It was an incredible evening, and our fans were instrumental in helping us overcome a formidable opponent,” Inzaghi commented. “Bayern played excellently in both legs, but they faced a team that was determined to advance at all costs. We demonstrated great teamwork, making sacrifices for one another, which is essential when facing a team of Bayern’s caliber.”
The Inter coach highlighted the team’s ability to stay focused and react positively to setbacks. “We maintained our composure, even when we conceded against the run of play. We remained in the game, kept clear heads, and managed to turn the situation around,” he explained.
Inzaghi also expressed his pride in reaching the semi-finals, acknowledging the difficulty of the achievement. “We enter the semi-final with great pride, eager to continue our journey in the competition,” he stated. “It’s not easy to reach this stage of the Champions League, and we’re thrilled with what we’ve accomplished.”
The first leg of the semi-final against Barcelona is scheduled for April 30 in Catalunya, with the return leg at San Siro on May 6. As Inter Milan prepares for these crucial matches, Inzaghi hopes to have all players available and fully fit for the upcoming challenge.
