Italy Mocks England After Liverpool-PSG Penalties

The social media team for the Italian national side couldn’t resist a cheeky jab at England after Gianluigi Donnarumma’s penalty heroics for Paris Saint-Germain against Liverpool. They posted a message saying, ‘some things never change,’ clearly referencing England’s past disappointments in penalty shootouts.

PSG secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals by defeating Liverpool on penalties. Donnarumma, Italy’s star goalkeeper, was instrumental in the victory, saving crucial penalties from Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones.

The Italian national team’s official social media account posted the message “Some things never change” in English, along with a picture of Donnarumma from the EURO 2020 final. This was a clear nod to his consistent penalty-saving abilities and a playful dig at the English national team’s penalty shootout history.
