Jofre Carreras: “We wanted the victory, a point is not enough for us”

Jofre Carreras commented for television on the Espanyol vs Girona match played this Monday at the RCDE Stadium, which concluded in a draw. Jofre scored a fantastic goal, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to secure the three points: “We were aiming for victory, and we were close until the end. Considering the first leg, we were very eager to win and dedicate the victory to our fans. A draw feels insufficient given the match’s progression and how it ended, but we must keep working to get three points next Saturday.”

The match was intense: “After the away game, we felt quite affected; it was tough, and we wanted to prove ourselves at home in front of our supporters. We almost achieved it, but it wasn’t to be. They needed to score and pushed many players forward, seeking a goal. We defended as well as we could; it’s a pity, and we must focus on the next game.”

Once again, Joan García stood out: “It’s the same every week; we’ve known his level for years. Now everyone can see it; what more can I say if you witness it week after week?”
