Juventus and Giuntoli Reach Mutual Agreement to End Partnership

According to multiple Italian sources, Juventus and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli have come to a mutual agreement to end their professional relationship. This decision comes after two years of Giuntoli`s tenure at the Allianz Stadium.

Reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and other journalists suggest that the decision to part ways was initially made by John Elkann. Now, both parties have reached an agreement to terminate their contract, which was originally set to run until 2028. An official announcement is expected to be made shortly.

Juventus has already begun restructuring its senior management following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season. The club has appointed Damien Comolli as the new general manager, and former player Giorgio Chiellini is anticipated to take on a more significant role in the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. The club is expected to seek a replacement for Giuntoli in the near future.

Giuntoli`s Legacy at Juventus

Giuntoli joined Juventus in the summer of 2023, shortly after his previous club, Napoli, had clinched the 2022-23 Scudetto. His first season at Juventus was marked by the club`s exclusion from UEFA competitions, which led to a severely restricted transfer window. Timothy Weah was the only new arrival during that summer.

In his second summer transfer window, Giuntoli oversaw significant investments, bringing in players such as Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, Khephren Thuram from OGC Nice, Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, Michele Di Gregorio from Monza, and securing a loan deal for Francisco Conceicao from Porto.

Under Giuntoli`s management, Juventus also sold several high-profile talents, including Dean Huijsen to AFC Bournemouth (who later joined Real Madrid), Moise Kean and Nicolo Fagioli to Fiorentina, Matias Soule to Roma, and Federico Chiesa to Liverpool.

Giuntoli was also responsible for bringing in Thiago Motta as head coach. However, Motta was unable to complete the 2024-25 season and was replaced by Igor Tudor in March.
