Juventus Declines RB Leipzig’s Bid for Timothy Weah
Juventus has rebuffed an approach from RB Leipzig regarding Timothy Weah, the 24-year-old American footballer. The German club had proposed a loan deal with a potential purchase option, but Juventus swiftly declined the offer.
Weah, who joined Juventus in 2023 after a four-year stint with Lille OSC, is under contract with the Italian giants until 2028. Despite a somewhat underwhelming first season in Serie A, where he managed only one goal and two assists in 35 appearances, Weah has shown significant improvement this year.
Under the guidance of new head coach Thiago Motta, Weah has flourished in various positions, including both wings and as a striker. His versatility has paid dividends, with the player notching four goals and four assists in just 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
Juventus’s swift rejection of Leipzig’s approach underscores Weah’s growing importance to the club. The Italian side appears to have no intention of parting ways with the American international, forcing RB Leipzig to look elsewhere in their search for attacking reinforcements.
