Juventus Defender Gatti Declines Nottingham Forest Offer, Set to Extend Contract

Juventus center-back Federico Gatti reportedly rejected a generous contract offer from Premier League side Nottingham Forest during the January transfer window. The Italy international chose to remain with the Bianconeri and is now close to signing a contract extension.

Reports suggest that Forest’s interest in Gatti began when Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli and Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis met at the Golden Boy Awards ceremony in Turin last December. Despite being offered a significantly higher salary than his current earnings at Juventus, Gatti declined the proposal.

The 26-year-old defender is said to be committed to staying with Juventus for the long term. He is reportedly on the verge of agreeing to a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2030, with an annual salary of €2.5 million. This figure is still lower than what Forest had allegedly offered.

Gatti’s decision to turn down the Premier League move demonstrates his loyalty to Juventus and his desire to continue his development with the Italian giants. The imminent contract extension is expected to solidify his position as a key player in the Bianconeri’s defensive lineup for years to come.
