Juventus Explores New Tactical Approaches Ahead of Borussia Dortmund Friendly

Juventus is currently conducting their pre-season preparations in Germany, where head coach Igor Tudor has been experimenting with two distinct tactical systems. This strategic exploration comes as the team gears up for an imminent friendly match against Bundesliga powerhouse Borussia Dortmund.

The Bianconeri have scheduled two more pre-season friendlies before their Serie A opener against Parma on August 24. The first of these is set to take place at Signal Iduna Park against Dortmund on Sunday, followed by a clash with Atalanta in Bergamo the subsequent weekend.

Reports suggest that Tudor has been testing two different formations during the initial stages of the team`s German training camp. The first is the familiar 3-4-2-1 system that Tudor frequently employed towards the end of the previous season. The second is a slightly modified 4-2-3-1 setup, reminiscent of the formation used by former coach Thiago Motta.

Tactical Variations in Juventus` Pre-Season Training

Both tactical approaches have featured summer signing Jonathan David as the lone striker. In the 4-2-3-1 formation, Kenan Yildiz has been deployed in his preferred role as the number 10, with Francisco Conceicao and Teun Koopmeiners operating as supporting playmakers on either side.

The 4-2-3-1 system also allows Andrea Cambiaso and new recruit Joao Mario to play in their natural full-back positions, potentially offering more defensive stability and attacking width.

As Juventus continues to fine-tune their tactics, these pre-season experiments could provide valuable insights into Tudor`s strategic vision for the upcoming season. The friendly against Borussia Dortmund will likely serve as a crucial test for whichever system the coach decides to implement.
