Juventus Face Squad Shortages Ahead of Monza Clash

Juventus manager Thiago Motta has revealed that six players will be unavailable for Sunday’s Serie A match against Monza. The Bianconeri are set to face the struggling side in an away fixture, but will be without several key squad members.

In his pre-match press conference, Motta confirmed that Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Arkadiusz Milik, Jonas Rouhi, Timothy Weah and Douglas Luiz are all ruled out of the upcoming game. Additionally, Andrea Cambiaso’s fitness is still being evaluated and his participation remains uncertain.

Despite these setbacks, Motta emphasized the importance of focus and determination against Monza: “We must approach this match with the utmost concentration and effort to deliver a strong performance. Monza is a capable team with a skilled coach, so we need everyone at their best.”

The Juventus boss also addressed questions about tactical flexibility, praising Manuel Locatelli’s adaptability after the midfielder played as a center-back in a recent Coppa Italia victory. Motta stressed that such decisions are made for the team’s benefit and with the players’ consent.

When asked to assess Juventus’ season so far, Motta deflected, stating he prefers to make evaluations at the end of the campaign. He expressed satisfaction with the squad’s work ethic but maintained high expectations for continuous improvement.

The coach also discussed the recent return of Nico Gonzalez and the versatility of young talent Kenan Yildiz, highlighting their ability to contribute in multiple positions across the pitch.

As Juventus prepares to face Monza, they find themselves nine points behind Serie A leaders Atalanta, having drawn 10 of their 16 league matches this season. The team will be looking to secure a crucial victory despite their depleted ranks.
