Recent reports suggest that Juventus is on the verge of finalizing the permanent transfer of Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle United, as new details about the agreement come to light.

While the initial announcement only mentioned a January loan deal worth €3 million with an option to buy at the season’s end, it has now been revealed that this option becomes mandatory if certain conditions are met, with the transfer fee set at €14.5 million.

Insiders have hinted that these conditions are easily achievable, essentially making the transfer a foregone conclusion.

Juventus All But Guaranteed to Secure Kelly

According to reliable sources, the key condition for Juventus to activate the mandatory purchase clause is qualification for any UEFA competition during the 2025-26 season. This includes even the Europa Conference League, meaning Juventus would need to finish in the top six of Serie A to trigger the obligation.

Currently, Juventus is tied for fourth place in the Serie A standings alongside Lazio, putting them in a strong position to meet this condition.

In addition to the base transfer fee of €17.5 million, the deal includes various performance-related bonuses totaling up to €3 million. However, €2 million of these bonuses are considered challenging to achieve.
