Data from the UEFA report “The European Club Finance and Investment Landscape,” analyzing various parameters of top European clubs in the past season, reveals interesting situations for Italian clubs as well.
The ranking of clubs with the most expensive squads is led by Chelsea, who set a new record, spending €1.656 billion on players in 2024, surpassing Manchester United’s 2023 record of €1.42 billion.
Looking closer at the Italian clubs, five are in the top 20 of this ranking: Juventus and Inter (both in the top 10), as well as Napoli, Milan, and Roma, in that order.
Notably, Juventus’s squad value is €737 million, according to UEFA, making it €113 million more valuable than Inter’s, which is valued at €624 million. The other three Italian teams in the top 20 are further behind.
