Juventus Supporters Take Firm Stand Against Andrea Agnelli’s Comeback
The Juventus fan group Curva Sud has made their stance clear regarding former club president Andrea Agnelli. Through a banner and social media posts, they strongly voiced their opposition to his potential return, stating “A.A. stay away from this club” and “Andrea Agnelli, we don’t want you!”
This reaction comes in response to recent speculation about Exor potentially selling Juventus, which has since been refuted. Exor has signaled its commitment to the club, even considering a possible capital increase.
While rumors have circulated about Agnelli’s possible return with foreign investment backing, this scenario seems highly unlikely. Agnelli resigned as president in November 2022 amid financial investigations but remains a co-owner through his family’s holding company.
Agnelli’s branch of the family holds a 9% stake in the parent company controlling the entire Agnelli empire. He also sits on the board of the family’s main holding company. Given this structure, a takeover by Agnelli appears improbable. If he were to return someday, it would more likely be as president, in agreement with his cousin, rather than as a new owner.
The fans’ message reflects ongoing tensions and a desire to move forward from past controversies associated with Agnelli’s tenure at the club.
