Juventus Player Ratings
DI GREGORIO 6 – Juventus’s only standout player, especially in the first half and partially in the second. Like a captain going down with his ship, he’s the last to give in but ultimately succumbs to the overwhelming pressure.
WEAH 5 – Too many errors, some significant and some unforced, often due to poor decision-making. While his speed is useful, his judgment is lacking. The much-touted overlapping runs were nowhere to be seen. (from 54′ COSTA 5 – Good pace and energy, but ultimately ineffective).
GATTI 5.5 – Like the entire defense, easily outplayed. Gatti shows glimpses of quality, but they are overshadowed by a generally poor team performance. Even he, usually resilient, crumbled. (from 54′ KALULU 5 – Fell apart, like the rest of the defense, as if there was no other option).
KELLY 4 – Started well but then collapsed, consistently losing physical battles with Retegui, who exploited the vast space afforded to him. A significant step back from his last performance; Atalanta is a different level of opponent.
CAMBIASO 5 – Played too narrowly and overall seemed timid and ineffective. Showed no signs of growth, appearing similar to his form a month ago when he was physically struggling.
THURAM 5.5 – The first to try and the last to give up. Thuram is among the “least bad” for Juventus, dragged down by the overall poor performance without any specific fault of his own. The context did not allow him to shine.
LOCATELLI 4.5 – His game faded after Atalanta’s third goal, a surrender evident in his posture afterward, hands on knees in defeat.
YILDIZ 4 – One of his worst performances in a Juventus shirt. Unable to create or maintain any consistent plays. Seemed intimidated by Atalanta’s attacks and ineffective upfront. (From 46′ KOOPMEINERS 4 – Offered nothing. Simply absent).
MCKENNIE 5 – Played with effort, but his handball initiated the disaster. McKennie contributed as long as he could, but then collapsed with the rest of the team, inevitably.
GONZALEZ 4 – Another disastrous game, again positioned on the left without creating anything. Gonzalez suffered from Thiago Motta’s insistence on playing him there, but also contributed to his own downfall with a sadly lackluster performance, lacking any spark. (from 54′ MBANGULA 5 – Could not be expected to fix such a broken situation).
KOLO MUANI 5 – A nice touch to set up McKennie, but his game ended there. Lacked character and grip, constantly falling and falling poorly. (from 75′ VLAHOVIC 4 – His clumsy intervention directly led to Atalanta’s 4-0 goal).
ALL. THIAGO MOTTA 3 – His worst game in charge, raising questions about his future. From substitutions to the team’s lack of response, does he still have control?
Atalanta Player Ratings
CARNESECCHI 7 – Relatively untroubled but always alert. Ultimately devastating against McKennie.
HIEN 6.5 – Considering his starting point and challenges, delivered a hugely important performance: impenetrable in defense, denying even Kolo Muani.
DJIMSITI 6.5 – Substance and little else, meaning he raised the pressure and challenged Juve’s courage, winning decisively.
KOLASINAC 7 – Dominated almost everything. Positioned himself on the left and broadened his team’s shoulders, driving forward plays. Towering performance. (from 80′ TOLOI sv)
BELLANOVA 6.5 – Good energy and significant substance. Did everything well without needing to do much more.
EDERSON 7 – Another display of immense character combined with undeniable quality. Made his mark on the game with simple, effective plays. (from 80′ PASALIC sv)
DE ROON 7.5 – His goal rewarded his tireless engine, always pushing hard. Captain’s performance in Atalanta’s best game of the season.
ZAPPACOSTA 7.5 – His goal was a team effort, and he fits perfectly into this team. Zappacosta continues to be a valuable asset for Gasperini, covering the field tirelessly.
CUADRADO 6.5 – Excellent performance amidst the boos and pressure. Cuadrado changed the team’s dynamic in the first half, only leaving due to injury. (from 45′ BRESCIANINI 7 – Very good performance, filling the spaces left by Juve as requested by Gasperini).
RETEGUI 6.5 – Only he knew the weight of that penalty. Converted it with heart, courage, and determination. Great season. (from 61′ DE KETELAERE 6.5 – More than a luxury substitute: all his final plays were correct).
LOOKMAN 8 – In the end, not just enough, but more than enough. Lookman gave everything he had, which was sufficient, abundant, and even demanded more. The best player on the pitch for character and strength. (From 80′ SAMARDZIC sv)
ALL. GASPERINI 8 – The perfect game, in what was once his home stadium. Atalanta is not just superior to Juventus but also eager to prove it. A machine back to perfection.
