Lazio emerged victorious with a convincing 3-0 win over Genoa in their Serie A encounter. The Biancocelesti took control early and never relinquished their grip on the match.
Matteo Cancellieri opened the scoring for Lazio in the first half with a well-taken goal. Taty Castellanos doubled the lead on the half-hour mark after a nice combination play with Adam Marusic, who unfortunately picked up an injury in the process.
Genoa tried to fight back into the game, with Lorenzo Colombo missing a good chance before halftime. However, Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel made some crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet.
The visitors put the result beyond doubt in the 63rd minute when Mattia Zaccagni capitalized on a goalmouth scramble following a Luca Pellegrini free kick to make it 3-0.
While Genoa had a penalty awarded and then overturned by VAR in the second half, they were unable to find a consolation goal. Lazio saw out the match comfortably to claim all three points.
Matteo Cancellieri was voted Man of the Match for his influential performance. The result gives Lazio a boost as they look to climb the Serie A table.
