Lazio vs Udinese Player Ratings: Romagnoli Secures a Point, Tchaouna Underperforms, Thauvin Shines

Lazio-Udinese 1-1

Lazio Player Ratings

Provedel 6: Made two crucial saves in the second half, earning Lazio a point. However, he could have done better on the goal conceded.

Marusic 6: Solid in possession and energy management. Supported Zaccagni effectively, focusing on defensive duties.

Gila 5.5: Outmaneuvered by Lucca in the build-up to Udinese’s goal and struggled against the opponent’s center-forward. Performed better when intercepting loose balls.

Romagnoli 7: Positionally flawed only for the opening goal. Redeemed himself ten minutes later with the equalizing goal.

Lazzari 5.5: Made a mistake leading to the 1-0 goal by failing to clear an easy ball. Offered little offensively.

Guendouzi 5.5: Struggled more than usual defensively due to Udinese’s midfield presence. Misplaced some simple passes.

Vecino 7: Filled in for Rovella effectively. Headed the ball to Romagnoli for the 1-1 goal. A vital option for Baroni’s rotations. (From 19th minute of the second half, Belahyane 6: Played a neat and simple half-hour.)

Isaksen 7: Lazio’s liveliest player. Ran, pressed, and consistently beat his marker on the wing, creating numerous opportunities. Delivered the corner that led to the equalizer. (From 35th minute of the second half, Patric SV – no rating).

Dia 6: Played as a hybrid attacking midfielder and central midfielder to support Lazio’s midfield, which was outnumbered. This limited his offensive impact, but he sacrificed himself willingly. (From 19th minute of the second half, Pedro 5.5: Failed to make an impact this time, slipping on a promising ball on the left flank.)

Zaccagni 6.5: Worked hard between the lines to break down Udinese’s defense. Had a chance for 2-1 early in the second half but was fouled by Ehizibue, according to the referee.

Tchaouna 5: Ineffective upfront. Found no inspiration to trouble the opposition’s defense. (From the 1st minute of the second half, Noslin 6: Achieved more than his teammate in a few minutes, setting up Zaccagni who was then fouled in the area.)

Coach Baroni 5: The decision to start with one less midfielder than the opposition was questionable. Tried to change tactics during the game but only managed a point, with some avoidable risks in the end.

Udinese Player Ratings

Okoye 6.5: Made a great save against Zaccagni around the half-hour mark. Powerless to stop the equalizer. Reliable in other situations.

Kristensen 6: Used strong methods to contain Zaccagni. Solid in aerial duels.

Bijol 6: Slow to step up for the 1-1 goal, keeping Romagnoli onside. Otherwise, delivered a good performance, largely neutralizing the opposition’s attackers.

Solet 5.5: Struggled to contain Isaksen, who consistently attacked down his side.

Ehizibue 7: Superb intervention early in the second half to save the result. A risky but effective tackle from behind on Zaccagni prevented Lazio from taking the lead. (From 43rd minute of the second half, Modesto SV – no rating).

Lovric 5.5: Decent in the first half, but declined in the second and became unnecessarily foul-prone. (From 19th minute of the second half, Atta 6: Brought clarity and substance to the midfield in the final minutes.)

Karlstrom 6: Prevented any breakthroughs on his side, by fair means or foul.

Ekkelenkamp 6: Valuable work in consistently creating numerical superiority in midfield. (From 19th minute of the second half, Payero 6: Continued his teammate’s work, pressing Lazio back in the final minutes.)

Kamara 5.5: Lazio attacked heavily on his flank, often leaving him in no-man’s land. Offered little offensively. (From 19th minute of the second half, Zemura 6: Defended better against the opposition’s runs, partly because Lazio’s tempo dropped in the last half-hour.)

Thauvin 7.5: Opened the scoring with a bit of luck and determination. Constant threat to Lazio, playing off Lucca.

Lucca 7: Good build-up play for the 1-0 goal, capitalizing on Lazzari’s mistake. Dominated Lazio’s defenders physically. (From 35th minute of the second half, Davis SV – no rating).

Coach Runjaic 6.5: His decision to switch from a 4-4-2 to a more cautious 3-5-2 paid off. Unfortunate for the collective lapse in concentration on the equalizing goal, but Udinese played a strong game.
