Lazio’s Lazzari Sidelined for Remainder of Season
Manuel Lazzari, Lazio’s right-back, is expected to be out of action for the rest of the season due to a calf injury sustained during the match against Genoa. According to reports, the defender will require 15 to 20 days of recovery time, effectively ruling him out for the remaining fixtures.
Lazzari was forced to leave the field midway through the Genoa game and subsequently missed the recent clash with Parma. Given the recovery timeline, there’s a slim possibility he could return for the final match of the season against Lecce at the Olimpico. However, if Lazio has nothing left to play for, the club may opt not to rush his comeback.
While awaiting official confirmation from the club, initial medical examinations suggest Lazzari has suffered a muscle strain, an issue he has encountered multiple times in the past. This marks his third muscular setback this season, in addition to a traumatic knee injury in January that sidelined him for a month.
The recurring injury problems in the full-back position, including Nuno Tavares’ seven muscle injuries this season, highlight an area of concern for Lazio. These issues are likely to prompt the club to seek reinforcements in the upcoming summer transfer window to bolster their defensive options.
