Lecce has officially secured Riccardo Sottil on a loan deal from Fiorentina. Concurrently, club president Saverio Sticchi Damiani has confirmed that Nikola Krstovic has expressed his desire to advance his career.
The Salentini have finalized the transfer of winger Sottil, who spent the previous six months on loan at Milan. This arrangement is a straight loan without a purchase option, costing Fiorentina €500,000.
President Sticchi Damiani commented on the acquisition: “We`ve been working on bringing Sottil for some time. These transactions are often complex, especially when the player is in high demand. Sottil is very motivated and eager to prove himself. The coach`s familiarity with him will be beneficial.”
New Arrival Sottil and Krstovic`s Aspirations
While Sottil joins the squad, Lecce is also managing interest in their strikers Santiago Pierotti and Krstovic. The latter has reportedly attracted attention from Roma, Milan, Atalanta, and Leeds United.
Sticchi Damiani addressed Krstovic`s situation: “Krstovic has requested an opportunity to progress in his career. If a suitable arrangement for all parties emerges, we may consider his departure. Otherwise, we`re content to retain him. This differs from Pierotti`s case, who, despite reported interest from various clubs, hasn`t requested a transfer.”
Krstovic, 25, was acquired from Dunajska Streda in 2023 for €4.4 million including bonuses. He had an impressive previous season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 37 Serie A appearances for Lecce, which has led to his current career aspirations.
