Lens Aims to Secure Neil El-Aynaoui with New Contract
RC Lens has recently been selling off several key players, including Elye Wahi, Kevin Danso, and others. The club is expected to continue this trend in the upcoming summer transfer window. However, one player they are keen on keeping is Neil El-Aynaoui.
El-Aynaoui, a Moroccan midfielder, joined Lens from AS Nancy in 2023 for a modest fee. Despite attracting interest from AS Monaco last summer, a failed medical examination prevented his transfer. Now that the health issue has been resolved, El-Aynaoui has regained his importance in the Lens squad.
The club’s management has made it a priority to offer El-Aynaoui a new contract. This move comes as Lens prepares to potentially sell other valuable assets, such as Argentine defender Facundo Medina, who has been instrumental in the team’s recent success, including their qualification for the UEFA Champions League two seasons ago.
By focusing on retaining El-Aynaoui, Lens aims to maintain some stability in their squad amidst the ongoing player sales. The midfielder’s improved health and consistent performances have made him a key figure in the team’s plans moving forward.
