Lens Open to Offers for Center-Back Facundo Medina
Reports suggest that RC Lens is preparing to part ways with another key defensive player. According to sources, Argentine defender Facundo Medina, 25, has been made available for transfer by the French club.
Lens has already experienced significant changes to their backline recently. In January, Kevin Danso departed for Tottenham Hotspur, while Abdukodir Khusanov joined Manchester City. Both players were regular starters under manager Will Still this season, with Danso in particular being a crucial part of the team.
The club’s successful UEFA Champions League qualification two seasons ago was largely due to the solid defensive trio of Danso, Medina, and Jonathan Gradit. While Gradit is currently in discussions to extend his contract with Lens, it appears that Medina will be allowed to seek opportunities elsewhere this summer.
This decision aligns with Lens’ business model of selling players when they reach their highest market value. The club believes that Medina has now hit that point in his career, making this summer an opportune time to facilitate a transfer.
