Liverpool Could Revive Salah by Signing “Europe’s Best Player” for £80M
Liverpool are closing in on the Premier League title under manager Arne Slot, but the club’s hierarchy is already planning for next season’s transfer window. While Liverpool have exceeded expectations this year, there’s a sense that reinforcements are needed to address some weaknesses, particularly in attack where Mohamed Salah has shouldered much of the burden.
Salah has been in excellent form overall, with 32 goals and 23 assists across all competitions. However, the 32-year-old Egyptian has gone six games without scoring recently, leading to some criticism. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher still calls Salah “one of the greatest players we’ve ever seen in the Premier League.”
To help reinvigorate Salah and strengthen their attack, Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Barcelona star Raphinha. According to transfer insider Graeme Bailey, Barcelona may be willing to sell Raphinha for around £80 million due to financial issues.
Raphinha, 28, has been in sensational form for Barcelona this season. The Brazilian winger has 12 goals and 7 assists in just 12 Champions League matches. His performances have led some to label him “Europe’s best player in 2024/25.”
Signing Raphinha could give Liverpool’s attack a major boost and help bring out the best in Salah again. The two dynamic wingers could form a lethal partnership, with Luis Diaz potentially moving to a center forward role to accommodate both players.
While £80 million would make Raphinha one of Liverpool’s most expensive signings ever, his Premier League experience and world-class form make him an enticing option as the club looks to defend their title next season. His creativity and goal threat could be exactly what Liverpool need to stay at the top.
