Liverpool Targets £67m “Future Star” as Ideal Salah Companion

Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons as a potential big-money signing this summer. The 21-year-old Dutch midfielder is viewed as an ideal creative partner for Mohamed Salah in the Reds’ attack next season.

According to BILD journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool are among several Premier League clubs monitoring Simons’ situation at Leipzig. The Bundesliga side are said to be open to offers around €80m (£67m) for the talented playmaker.

Simons only joined Leipzig permanently from PSG in January, but the German club appear willing to cash in this summer if a substantial bid arrives. His current contract runs until 2027.

The Netherlands international has impressed in the Bundesliga this season with 8 goals and 11 assists in 32 appearances. His creative abilities could help take some of the playmaking burden off Salah’s shoulders.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently confirmed the club are already identifying summer transfer targets. Securing Salah’s long-term future remains a priority, but adding a creative talent like Simons could be the perfect complement.

At just 21, Simons is regarded as a future star “destined for greatness” according to analysts. His vision, dribbling skills and goal threat make him an exciting prospect to potentially partner with Salah in Liverpool’s attack next season and beyond.
