Atalanta has officially announced their squad for the upcoming UEFA Champions League season, with Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman included despite recent transfer rumors. The player had been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
Inter Milan had shown significant interest in acquiring Lookman, but ultimately refused to meet Atalanta`s asking price. The situation escalated to the point where Lookman reportedly went on strike and removed all mentions of Atalanta from his social media profiles.
In addition to Inter Milan, other clubs were also rumored to be interested in Lookman. There were reports of interest from Turkish clubs, and even a late loan offer from German giants Bayern Munich.
