Luis Enrique Extends Contract with Paris Saint-Germain Until 2027

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has announced that head coach Luis Enrique has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2027. The Spanish manager’s new deal comes as a reward for the team’s impressive development under his guidance.

PSG executives are reportedly pleased with the direction Enrique has taken the club since his appointment in July 2023. In his debut season, he led the team to a domestic double and reached the Champions League semi-finals, notably eliminating Barcelona in the quarter-finals.

Enrique’s second season has presented new challenges, particularly with the departure of star player Kylian Mbappé. Despite this, the 54-year-old coach has maintained PSG’s dominance in Ligue 1, where they currently hold a 10-point lead over Marseille. The team has also progressed to the Coupe de France quarter-finals.

While facing some difficulties in the Champions League, including losses to Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Atlético Madrid, PSG revived their European campaign with a memorable 4-2 victory over Manchester City. They are now set to face Ligue 1 rivals Brest in the play-off round.

The official announcement of Enrique’s contract extension was made prior to PSG’s home match against AS Monaco at Parc des Princes. Reports suggest that the Spanish coach had actually signed the new contract several months ago, with the club choosing this moment to make it public.
