Lyon’s Predicted Lineup Against Reims: Mikautadze Replaces Injured Lacazette
Paulo Fonseca is set to lead Olympique Lyonnais in his second match as the team’s manager, this time hosting Stade de Reims. Following a narrow 3-2 loss to their rivals Olympique de Marseille last week, this will be Fonseca’s first home game with Lyon.
The Portuguese coach seems to be prioritizing consistency in these early stages. He is expected to make only one change to the lineup, with Georges Mikautadze stepping in for Alexandre Lacazette as the central striker. Lacazette, formerly of Arsenal, has been sidelined due to injury and will not be part of the squad.
Thiago Almada, Lyon’s sole winter acquisition due to a transfer ban, has yet to start a match since joining from Botafogo. The Argentine World Cup winner has made two substitute appearances so far and will likely be hoping for another opportunity to impress from the bench against Reims.
Lyon’s Anticipated Starting XI vs Reims
Lucas Perri; Nicolás Tagliafico, Moussa Niakhaté, Clinton Mata, Saël Kumbedi; Jordan Veretout, Nemanja Matić; Ernest Nuamah, Corentin Tolisso, Rayan Cherki; Georges Mikautadze.
