Man City Targeting Real Madrid Star Camavinga in £50m+ Move

Manchester City are reportedly targeting a Real Madrid star this summer, with Pep Guardiola believing he could be a perfect fit for his team.

Man City Anticipates Summer Exits

Despite their recent Premier League dominance, Manchester City faces a challenge to secure a Champions League spot next season. After being eliminated from this year’s Champions League by Real Madrid, their focus is now on a top-four finish and potentially winning the FA Cup.

Following a busy January transfer window, City may see more activity in the summer, but this time with players leaving. Key midfielder Kevin De Bruyne’s contract is nearing its end, and he has been linked with a move to MLS. Bernardo Silva is also rumored to have agreed personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, with City seeking a transfer fee exceeding £40m.

Mateo Kovacic, signed from Chelsea in 2023, has also been mentioned as a possible departure and is reportedly interested in joining Atletico Madrid alongside Julian Alvarez.

Consequently, reinforcing the midfield could be a priority for Guardiola and Manchester City, and they seem to have identified a primary target.

Man City Sets Sights on £50m+ Real Madrid Talent

According to reports from Spain, Manchester City has identified Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga as a key transfer target for the summer.

With potential departures of De Bruyne and Kovacic, Camavinga is seen as an “ideal option” due to his versatility, capable of both defensive work and contributing to build-up play. Real Madrid are reportedly open to selling him for around €60m-€70m (£50.3m-£58m), a price considered easily affordable for City.

The report further suggests that Guardiola values Camavinga’s ability to integrate into the team’s system and his potential to form a strong partnership with Rodri once he recovers from injury.

Camavinga, 22, has been with Real Madrid since 2021, making 170 appearances and winning 11 titles with the club. Praised by Carlo Ancelotti for his exceptional qualities and versatility to play in midfield or defense, Camavinga’s potential move to Manchester City appears to be gaining momentum, with both clubs seemingly agreeable to a deal exceeding £50m should City formalize their interest.
