Man Utd Eyes “Best Striker in the World” in £62m Deal with Hojlund Offer

Manchester United has reportedly made a proposal involving Rasmus Hojlund and cash to secure the signing of ‘the best striker in the world’. According to a journalist, the striker’s current club is open to this type of arrangement.

Hojlund’s Premier League Struggles

While Hojlund has been a consistent scorer in the Europa League, netting five goals in the group stage, most of these goals came against weaker opponents like Bodo/Glimt and Viktoria Plzen.

The 22-year-old has found it challenging to replicate this form against stronger Premier League teams, scoring only two goals in 23 appearances this season and failing to score since December’s 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Summer signing Joshua Zirkzee has also been inconsistent in front of goal, scoring six times in 42 appearances across all competitions. This explains why Manchester United is keen to bring in a new striker in the summer transfer window.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has emerged as a key target for Manchester United. Journalist Luca Cerchione has provided an update on their pursuit of the Nigerian, suggesting that a proposal has already been submitted.

Cerchione stated: “Keep an eye on the Rasmus Højlund trail, which was reported to me last week. United have proposed Højlund to Napoli as part of the deal that could bring Victor Osimhen to Manchester United. In order for Osimhen’s price tag to drop, they will also talk about Højlund, who Conte likes a lot. We’ll see, we’ll follow this lead. €40m, plus Højlund, would be a deal in favour of Napoli.”

Osimhen reportedly has a £62m release clause in his Napoli contract, but Manchester United is seemingly exploring a different type of deal, which would allow them to offload an underperforming striker.

Osimhen: Potential “Best Striker in the World”

Despite Hojlund’s potential to develop into a top striker, it might be an opportunity Napoli cannot refuse if they are interested in a swap deal for the Nigerian international.

The 26-year-old Osimhen has been praised as ‘the best striker in the world’ by the media during his time at Napoli. He has continued to impress during his loan spell at Galatasaray this season, scoring 23 goals in 29 games in all competitions.

There are indications that Osimhen is also interested in a move to Old Trafford this summer, making a potential transfer a real possibility.

Given the struggles of their current attacking options this season, it is crucial for Manchester United to sign a striker this summer. The news of a proposal for one of the world’s best strikers will be encouraging for fans.
