Man Utd Players Question Amorim’s System
Manchester United’s performance has not improved since discussions of Erik ten Hag’s potential replacement began. The team currently sits 14th in the Premier League with only 10 games remaining, leading to doubts among some players about Ruben Amorim’s tactical approach.
Reports suggest that some players have privately discussed their concerns about the Portuguese coach’s three-at-the-back system, wondering if a change in style would be beneficial. However, Amorim has continued to implement his preferred system.
The 1-1 draw against Arsenal might be seen as a positive result, but overall results have not improved since these doubts emerged. Prior to the draw, the team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur and was eliminated from the FA Cup by Fulham.
These results have naturally raised questions about Amorim’s future at Old Trafford. A report from Italy indicates that Manchester United might be considering another managerial change, potentially appointing Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi.
“Phenomenal” Inzaghi’s Successful Track Record
Simone Inzaghi, aged 48, has a proven record of success in Italian football. He has won nine trophies with Inter Milan and Lazio, including the Serie A title last season. Currently, his Inter Milan side is again leading the league table.
Former Inter striker Felipe Caicedo praised Inzaghi, calling him a “phenomenal coach” and stating, “I’ve never had a better manager, even though I had top coaches like Eriksson and Hughes.”
Despite these reports, comments from Sir Jim Ratcliffe suggest a different perspective. Ratcliffe recently expressed his belief that Amorim is performing well given the current squad, implying that Amorim might be given more time to improve the team’s performance. This approach of stability might be seen as more beneficial than frequently changing managers and tactical approaches.
