Manchester United have approached a £50m-rated midfielder, attracting interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.
Man Utd Considers Managerial Changes After Disappointing Season Start
The Red Devils are experiencing a difficult season. Despite appointing Ruben Amorim as manager, following a stint under Erik ten Hag, the Portuguese coach is already under pressure. The team has only secured five wins in 16 Premier League matches and currently sits in the bottom half of the league table.
Several managers have been mentioned as potential replacements for Amorim at Old Trafford. Names like former Germany boss Joachim Low, Massimiliano Allegri, formerly of Juventus, and Unai Emery of Aston Villa have been suggested as possible candidates if Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS decide to end Amorim’s tenure early.
In addition to potential managerial changes, INEOS is also focusing on the upcoming summer transfer window and possible player acquisitions.
Reports suggest that United are prepared to bid £25m for Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP, following the loan departures of Marcus Rashford and Antony.
Furthermore, the Red Devils are reportedly leading the race to sign Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund, another attacking player who could potentially replace Rashford or Antony.
In midfield, Man Utd are anticipating the departures of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, and they appear to have identified a key target to strengthen this area.
Man Utd Enquires About Casemiro Replacement
Manchester United have reportedly made contact to inquire about the availability of Atalanta midfielder Ederson.
However, the Brazilian midfielder is also attracting interest from Manchester City and Liverpool, making it a competitive transfer pursuit.
Atalanta are seeking around £50m for the 25-year-old, which follows previous interest from Manchester United last summer. Football expert Carlo Garganese has described Ederson as a ‘machine’, and Tim Vickery has praised him as a ‘strong, well-built central midfielder’ with versatility and a strong personality.
Vickery added, ‘Strong on the ball, versatile, box-to-box. Strong personality as well. He stood out even when his team, Cruzeiro, were in poor form and relegated.’

Ederson has been a key player for Atalanta since 2022, primarily in central midfield but also in defensive and attacking roles.
A move to the Premier League with Man Utd is a possibility. However, their potential lack of European football next season could be a disadvantage in securing his signature.
