Manchester City is reportedly considering a move for an exciting forward, Trincao, who is also a key target for Ruben Amorim of Manchester United.
Man City Looking for New Wingers
Speculation around Jack Grealish’s future at Man City has led the club to look for a new winger this summer. Several players are being considered.
Jacob Ramsey from Aston Villa has emerged as a potential target, primarily playing on the left wing this season. However, he is valued at over £50m.
Another player on City’s radar is Roger Fernandes from SC Braga, a 19-year-old valued at £34m. Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested in him.
Trincao from Sporting CP is another winger Man City is reportedly targeting, potentially competing with Manchester United, where Amorim is keen to sign him.
Pep Guardiola’s team is said to be big admirers of Trincao, who is expected to leave Sporting after a strong season in Portugal.
Besides Chelsea, other ‘big six’ Premier League clubs are also interested in the Sporting star, potentially leading to a significant transfer battle this summer. Sporting CP may demand £66m for him.
It’s mentioned that Amorim is pushing for Manchester United to sign Trincao, but City could now challenge for his signature.
Trincao: An ‘Exciting’ Player in Portugal
Despite Amorim’s departure, Sporting is likely to win the Liga Portugal title this season, with Trincao being a standout performer.
The Portuguese winger has contributed 23 goals in all competitions, with nine goals and 14 assists. He was previously praised by Scott Sellars, former Wolves technical director, as a ‘really exciting player’ with ‘good creativity’.
A possible concern regarding Trincao is his previous spell in the Premier League with Wolves in 2021-22, where he scored only two goals and provided one assist. However, he has seemingly developed significantly since then.
