Manchester City Stars Bid Farewell to Kyle Walker as He Joins AC Milan
Kyle Walker has completed his transfer from Manchester City to AC Milan, prompting an outpouring of farewell messages from his former teammates and other Premier League stars. The England international joins Milan on an initial loan deal with an option to make the move permanent for around €5 million.
After seven and a half successful years at Manchester City, during which he won 17 major trophies including six Premier League titles and one Champions League, Walker penned an emotional goodbye on social media. He expressed gratitude to the club, his teammates, manager Pep Guardiola, and the fans for their support throughout his time at the Etihad Stadium.
Several of Walker’s former teammates praised his contributions and wished him well in his new endeavor. Ilkay Gundogan called him a “legend,” while Jeremy Doku said he would miss playing alongside Walker. Former England Women’s captain Steph Houghton and ex-City defender Gael Clichy both hailed Walker as the best right-back in the Premier League.
Walker’s new AC Milan teammate Theo Hernandez was quick to welcome him to the club on social media. The 33-year-old defender will wear the number 32 shirt for Milan as he embarks on this new chapter in his career in Serie A.
As Walker departs Manchester City after a highly successful spell, he leaves behind a legacy as one of the club’s most decorated players and a key figure in their recent domination of English football. His move to Milan represents an exciting new challenge as he looks to make his mark in Italian football.
