According to French newspaper L`Equipe, both Manchester United and Manchester City have expressed interest in acquiring Italian national team goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. This comes as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly looking to replace him with Lucas Chevalier.
Recent reports have suggested that Donnarumma`s future in France is uncertain. His current contract with PSG runs until June 30, 2026, but negotiations to extend it with a revised wage structure have reached an impasse.
PSG Prepares for Donnarumma`s Departure
Unwilling to lose another top player on a free transfer, PSG appears to have decided to sell the Italian captain this summer. The French club is eyeing LOSC goalkeeper Chevalier as a replacement, though the transfer is expected to cost at least €40 million.
L`Equipe`s latest report indicates that both Manchester United and Manchester City have joined the race for the Italian international. They join Chelsea and Galatasaray, who were previously linked with the former AC Milan star. Donnarumma recently played a crucial role in PSG`s Champions League triumph.
If Donnarumma were to return to Serie A, Inter Milan and Juventus would be the most likely destinations. However, the Premier League giants now seem to be leading the chase for his signature.
