Manchester United Developing Potential Hojlund Successor in Academy
Manchester United’s £64 million striker Rasmus Hojlund has struggled to find consistent form this season, scoring just 3 Premier League goals so far. This has highlighted the need for alternative options up front, whether through new signings or promoting youth talent.
While 17-year-old Chido Obi has generated excitement with his recent first-team appearances, another teenage striker is also catching attention in United’s academy setup. Victor Musa, 18, recently put in a stunning performance for the Under-18s, scoring 6 goals in the first half of a 13-1 win over Leeds United.
The Spanish-born England youth international showcased his clinical finishing ability and all-around attacking threat. At 6’4″, Musa possesses a similar physical profile to Hojlund, but demonstrated a more varied skill set – scoring tap-ins, curling efforts from range, and powerful strikes.
Musa has now tallied 11 goals and 3 assists in just 14 U18 Premier League appearances this season. While he hasn’t featured for the senior side yet, such prolific form will be difficult for manager Ruben Amorim to ignore if it continues.
With Amorim already promoting young talents like Obi and Harry Amass to the first team in recent months, Musa could be the next academy prospect to earn an opportunity. His goalscoring exploits suggest he may have the potential to provide competition for Hojlund or even develop into his long-term successor at Old Trafford.
